On Wednesday, July 18th, 2012, deal united hosted their first ever Facebook Credits Summit in The Charles Hotel in Munich. Back in June, Facebook announced that they would be discontinuing the distribution of Facebook Credits at the end of the year. deal united saw this as an opportunity to promote the use of these great credits before their inevitable demise. deal united has seen firsthand the success of Facebook Credits, when used as an incentive marketing tool. Whether it is rewarding your fans with credits for subscribing to your newsletter or through a prize drawing or lottery, these credits have proven to be incredibly useful.
The summit began just after lunchtime in the center of Munich. Speakers included Gary Boeing, CEO of apploft GmbH, Marco Höglinger, CEO of innovation.punkts GmbH, and our very own Markus Wiedemann, Vice President of European Sales for deal united, and Kai Joachim Boyd, the CEO of deal united. Topics included the countdown to the end of Facebook Credits, practical demonstrations of the uses of Facebook Credits, using virtual game apps as a viral marketing tool, and tips for the development of apps for Facebook fan pages. Attendees came from companies in fields varying from advertising to consulting to entertainment and more. They were all interested in getting their hands of some of these Facebook Credits before time runs out. At the end of the evening, attendees were invited to enjoy dinner, drinks, and networking in one of Munich’s most exclusive hotels.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who was able to join us at the summit and we hope to see you next time!
Like Pay4You, the incentive deal is one of deal united’s marketing solutions. It not only motivates visitors of web shops to buy something, but it also increases the amount of money that customers spend in the shop – the Average Oder Value (AOV).
Studies have proven that online shoppers are far more ready to purchase when given special services like welcome gifts, product campaigns and vouchers. With deal united, software providers and web shop owners can provide attractive incentives from top internet brands.
Incentive example No. 1: “Buy now and get a voucher worth 20 euros for free”.
Users get the voucher of their choice from a deal united advertising partner if they complete a purchase in your shop. This allows software providers and online shops to address users directly and increase their conversion rate.
Incentive example No. 2: “Shop now for 50 euros and get two movie tickets for free”
This example is more about creating incremental value. If a customer buys for a certain amount of money (more than average), they’ll get a bonus on top of it. Bonuses can be vouchers or products like cinema tickets or free software.
Users can be addressed through several channels, for example emails, banners or pop-unders or during the download process.
